27/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Transport Council on Monday formally adopted the compromise concluded in December 2005 with the European Parliament on the modified proposed "Eurovignette" directive, which aims to tax heavy-goods vehicles using road infrastructure (see EUROPE 9090). The Member States will have two years to transpose the provisions of the directive once it has been published in the Official Journal.
