27/03/2006 (Agence Europe) -Commissioner Markos Kyprianou and several of his colleagues are to take part in the launch of the second phase of the European campaign "HELP- For a Life without Tobacco", on Wednesday 29 March. They will be taking part in a test to measure the amount of carbon monoxide present in the lungs, as part of an event to be held at the foot of the Berlaymont building in Brussels, where 25 tents in the colours of the Member States of the Union will be pitched for the day. Anybody wanting to take part in this event can visit these tents and also take part in the test, after which they will receive a brochure explaining how to stop smoking or to avoid passive smoking. Between March and November 2006, these tests will be available to over 50,000 people as part of some hundred events to be held throughout the Union.
