LISBON STRATEGY: Roger Briesch's Budapest presentation of committee and EU economic and social councils' synthesis report for attention of March 2006 summit insists “three pillars of Lisbon strategy - social, economic and environmental are interlinked”

Budapest/Brussels, 13/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - Sandor Demjan, the President of the Hungarian Economic and Social Council introduced the work of the Budapest conference (9-10 March) on ownership of the Lisbon strategy at a national level with the following words, “The Lisbon strategy is a project, a plan at the threshold of a new millennium and whose objective is to ensure a peaceful future for us and future generations in a globalised world”.
