Commission authorises EUR 25 million to save Volare from bankruptcy

Brussels, 08/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 8 March, the European Commission authorised rescue aid for Italian airline Volare Airlines SpA. The aid consists of a EUR 25 million guarantee from the Italian Government which the airline will be able to use to obtain credit for that amount from the banks. This short-term aid is intended to rescue the firm from bankruptcy and allow it to take steps to continue operating.
