02/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - Israel announced on Wednesday that, after Hamas' election victory, it would not pay the Palestinian Authority the almost 55 million dollars it was due from taxes and customs duties on Palestinian goods transiting through Israel, in contravention of its agreement with the EU. When questioned, the Commission said that it was following the affair closely but was not reacting to what was still only an announcement.
