Brussels, 30/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdulrahman Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah will be in Brussels on 1st and 2 February for a working visit to the European Commission, where he will meet Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner, and to the European Parliament, where, on Wednesday he will attend a lunch organised by the EPP-ED group. During his working visit, he will discuss EU-GCC negotiations in an atmosphere of recently stated joint desire to close the file as quickly as possible. On Thursday, he will meet Javier Solana to discuss recent developments in the Middle East, such as Palestine, the Iranian nuclear situation, which is of great concern to the Gulf countries, Iraq, Lebanon and the fight against terrorism.
