Brussels, 23/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - In Brussels on 23 January, the agriculture Minister of the Member States of the EU decided to allow Cyprus to pay national aid of 39.33 million EUR to its heavily indebted farmers. This money will be used to pay back a proportion of the loans contracted by over 15,000 Cypriot farmers, due to "exceptional circumstances", to banks and other financial establishments.
