Juncker says Eurogroup dynamic must be used if necessary

Brussels, 12/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - In response to questions on the EU's constitutional impasse, Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker told the Financial Times Deutschland on Monday that, if nothing is right and everything is blocked, then he will surely be among those who seek to reach more on the basis of the Eurogroup dynamic. In his view, the group made up of euro zone countries can play a lever role if the Constitution finally fails, and it can also play a lever role to put the constitutional process back on track as it may then show that this also works in the smaller configuration (see EUROPE 9081 for comments by Guy Verhofstadt and Jacques Delors on the role of the Eurogroup, during the Quo Vadis, Europa? conference).
