12/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - Cooperation between the EU and ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) has celebrated its 25th anniversary. “We cab be proud of the developments we have seen in EU/ASEAN relations”, Benita-Ferrer-Waldner, External Relations Commissioner, states in a press release. “Our cooperation is not just political and economic but takes on a significant human dimension”, she said, adding that “last year's tsunami disaster showed spontaneous solidarity between our peoples”...She went on to say that over the newt twenty-five years it may be possible to do much more together. ASEAN is made up of ten member nations (Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam).
