Parliament in Iraq with ad hoc delegation

Brussels, 09/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - Several days ahead of the parliamentary elections in Iraq (15 December), the conference of presidents of the European Parliament decided on 8 December to send an ad hoc delegation of three MEPs to Iraq next week. Only the President of the GUE/NGL Francis Wurtz opposed this step which was requested by the British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw.
