25/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - Commission Regulation (EC) 1739/2005 of 21 October 2005 laying down animal health requirements for the movement of circus animals between Member States has been published in Official Journal L279 of 22 October. In the same Official Journal is published Commission Decision 2005/744/EC of 21 October 2005 laying down the requirements for the prevention of highly pathogenic avian flu caused by influenza A virus of subtype H5N1 in susceptible birds kept in zoos in the Member States, and Commission Decision 2005/745/EC laying down biosecurity measures to reduce the risk of transmission of H5N1 from wild birds to poultry and other captive birds. This includes a ban on the collection of poultry and other birds at markets, shows exhibitions and cultural events, and a ban on the use of birds of the orders Anseriformes and Charadriiformes as decoys in bird-hunting.
