Brussels, 29/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner Peter Mandelson and trade ministers from around fifteen of the member countries of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) will be meeting on 10 October in Zurich in another attempt to relaunch negotiations on the Doha cycle. The half-day meeting was initiated by the USA and will bring together representatives from South Africa, Australie, Brazil, Canada, China, South Korea, Egypt, USA, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Rwanda and the EU. WTO Director General, Pascal Lamy, is also expected to take part in the meeting, which is seeking to ensure a follow-up to last week's meeting in Paris between the EU, USA, Brazil and India (EUROPE 9033 and 9034). European sources said that they were waiting to see what the USA put on the table in Zurich for the “parameters” regarding import tariff reduction and their domestic aid to farmers.
