26/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Istanbul conference on the massacre of Armenians, cancelled by a Turkish court on Thursday, finally took place. Both the scam and Turkish prime minister had criticised this cancellation. The Commission welcomed this conference, describing it as important that this “important subject in the history of Turkey could be discussed” (EUROPE 9034).
