23/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission adopted, on 22 September, the decision allowing the ban on anchovy fishing in the Bay of Biscay to be extended from 3 October to 31 December (EUROPE 9031 and 9026). It recalls the need to follow this measure during three more months to ensure the anchovy stock is replenished. The Commission confirms its resolve to propose a zero quota of anchovies for 2006 pending new scientific data.
