Appeal to Vatican to cooperate with ICTY

Brussels, 22/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - The vice presidents of the Socialist group at the European Parliament Jan Marinus Wiersma and Hannes Swoboda have called on the Vatican to fully cooperate with the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY). This is in response to information from the Chief Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte according to which Croat General Gotovina, accused of war crimes, is hiding in a Franciscan monastery in Croatia.
