30/08/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Greek press agency ANA reports that, according to a survey carried out by Kappa Research for the newspaper, To Paron, 73.5% of Greeks would like the government to take a stand against Turkey's accession to the EU if the problem of Cyprus and the dispute in the Aegean have not first been solved. Furthermore, 8.5% of respondents were against Turkey's membership under any circumstances and 51.5% consider the Greek government should put an end to political rapprochement with Ankara. Finally, according to the results of a survey, only 35.7% of Greeks believe that Turkey's accession would serve the interests of the European Union, compared to 58.5% who believe that it would not.
