28/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - The publication, Le Parisien, has announced that former MEP Thierry Jean-Pierre passed away on 26 July, just before his 50th birthday. As a Magistrate he was known as the “little judge” and became famous in 1991 for his ruling on the Urba affair (funding of the Socialist Party). In 1992 he revealed the interest free loan to prime minister Pierre Bérégovoy (who committed suicide in May 1993). He was elected to the European Parliament in June 1994 on a Philippe de Villiers ticket and was part of the Union of a Europe of Nations group.
