UK Presidency's timetable

Brussels, 15/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - On the occasion of the launch of the UK site dedicated to research on the Cordis Internet portal (http: //http://www.cordis.lu/united_kingdom ), the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Science and Innovation, Lord Sainsbury of Turville, stressed that the UK Presidency intends to move work forward on the future 7th framework programme of research (FPRD) and the future European space program. Here is a timetable of the main events planned under the heading of research for the second half of 2005: -conference i2010, on 5 and 6 September in London; -meeting on the European Charter for Researchers, in London on 8 and 9 September; -conference on the knowledge-based bio-economy, in Brussels on 15 and 16 September; -NEST (New and Emerging Science and Technologies) Conference, in London on 20 and 21 September; -ESFRI (European Strategic Forum on Research Infrastructures) conference, in London on 22 and 23 September; -CREST meeting, in Brussels on 29 September; -Competitiveness Council, in Luxembourg on 11 October; -conference on bioscience, in London on 11 October; -CREST meetings, in Manchester on 19 and 20 October; -conference on the seventh FPRD, in Newcastle in November (date to be confirmed); -Competitiveness Council, in Brussels on 28 in 29 November; -CREST meeting, in Brussels on 5 December; -conference on research infrastructure, in Nottingham on 6 and 7 December.
