Amending 2005 quotas for herring, mackerel, horse mackerel, octopus and vessels engaged in illegal fisheries

Brussels, 13/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 12 July, the European Commission adopted a proposal to amend 2005 fishing quotas for herring, mackerel, horse mackerel and octopus. The proposal suggests incorporating in EU law a recommendation for tight controls of vessels from certain non-EU countries known to engage in illegal fishing (undeclared and unregulated).
