European Parliament opposes agreement with Canada about storage of passenger details, for technical reasons

Strasbourg, 08/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Parliament opposed the signature of an agreement with Canada on the storage of air passenger details. The European Parliament has sent a similar agreement signed with the US to the European Court of Justice, and opposes the signing of any other international agreements until this case is heard. MEPs therefore voted through by 321 to 53 with 192 abstentions the report by Dutch ALDE MEP Sophia in't Veld. They argue that this...
