European Unions call on COmmission to reconsider its position

Brussels, 29/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - In a statement sent to the European Commission on 27 June, the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) has called upon it to reconsider its position in negotiations under the the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) at the WTO. Whilst it takes note of the EU's decision to take no new commitments on public services such as education, healthcare and audiovisual services, ETUC voices serious concerns on several points.
