Brussels, 06/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - The fourth economic summit of Munich, to be held in the Bavarian capital on 9 and 10 June, will conduct a critical assessment of progress made by the Lisbon Strategy, arranged by the BMW Herbert Quandt Foundation and the CESifo group Munich. This summit, entitled "Europe and the Lisbon objectives, are we halfway there?", will be chaired by the Minister President of Bavaria, Edmund Stoiber. Among those taking part will be the Latvian President Vaira Vike Freiberga, the former Dutch Prime Minister and president of the high-level group on the Lisbon strategy, Wim Kok, the Slovakian minister for employment, Ludovit Kanik, the Hungarian Minister for the economy, Janos Koka and Otmar Issing, a member of the board of the European Central bank.
