06/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has cleared a proposed joint venture between Barclays Bank of the UK and FöreningsSparbanken (FSB) of Sweden for credit card issuing services. Barclays Bank (Barclays) is primarily active in the banking sector. Barclays has limited banking activities in Sweden and Norway, where it is only active in investment banking and card acquiring services.
