Compromise on financial perspectives is “totally unacceptable”, Giorgio La Malfa says - Exchange of views with Commissioners McCreevy and Kroes on public takeover bids on two Italian banks

Brussels, 26/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - During a two-day visit to European institutions, Giorgio La Malfa, Italian European Affairs Minister, met President José Manuel Barroso and Commissioners Neelie Kroes, Charlie McCreevy and Günter Verheugen as well as MEPs.

On this occasion, Giorgio La Malfa restated Italy's position on the compromise proposal from the Luxembourg Presidency on the financial perspectives discussed on Sunday (see EUROPE 8952). He considers the “negotiating box”...
