Chinese negotiator in Brussels next week to clarify Beijing's intentions, after recent announcement of average increase of 400% in its export customs duty

Brussels, 20/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - Next week in Brussels, the European and Chinese negotiators will examine measures announced by China on Thursday to apply the brakes to its textile imports, which have mushroomed since the textiles quotas were lifted on 1 January. “This is a dossier we must take a closer look at with China”, explained Françoise Le Bail, announcing that the Chinese negotiator, the deputy minister for trade Gao Hucheng, would be in Brussels next week to meet Trade...
