Commission congratulates Tony Blair on re-election

Brussels, 09/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - Commission president José Manuel Barroso has congratulated Tony Blair for his re-election last Friday. In a press statement he said that he was “waiting impatiently for the occasion to work together to tackle crucial challenges facing us, particularly during the British presidency of the EU in the second half of the year”, adding, “Our close cooperation is indispensable to the success of the European Union”.
