03/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU) is holding a conference on public-private partnerships and the quality of public services, in Brussels on 9 and 10 May, to be attended by representatives of the European institutions and the social partners. Various workshops will provide information on the diversity of PPPs at national, European and international level, notably through a study carried out by the international research unit on public services of the University of Greenwich (PSIRU). The experience of the unions in this original form of collaboration between the public and private sectors will also be discussed. Discussions will go beyond the framework of PPPs to deal with the need for strategies and campaigns in favour of the quality of public services in Europe. (Information: Penny Clarke, EPSU.
