02/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 28 April during plenary session in Brussels, the European Parliament adopted (consultation procedure) the report by Marian Harkin (ALDE, Ireland) on amending the regulation of the European Foundation for improving living and working conditions in Dublin. In so doing, the Parliament calls for a strengthened strategic role for the Foundation's board, while conferring more administrative tasks on the already existent office. According to the Parliament, in order to eliminate the inequalities and promote equality between men and women, it is necessary to foresee encouraging a balanced representation of men and women within the governing and management structure of the Foundation.
