02/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - Coldiretti has stated in a press release that, after the case of the Chinese textiles, “we must also open an investigation into Chinese tomatoes” as, over the last five years, Italian imports of tomato purée from China have almost tripled (to almost the same amounts as are produced in Italy). In 2004, tomato purée was the number one agro-food export from China to Italy, up 46% on 2003, Coldiretti emphasises.
