After the positive opinion of the relevant management committee (EUROPE 8932), MEP Margie Sudre (EPP-ED, France) welcomes the exceptional aid provided by Europe to bananas from the West Indies. She welcomes the total commitment on the part of the government, the representatives and professionals in the sector, and the understanding shown by the European Commission, which has made it possible to save an essential part of the economic activity of Guadeloupe and Martinique.
