Brussels, 12/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - As anticipated, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) adopted all the opinions included on its agenda, most notably a series of four key opinions on the future of the regional policy of the EU. The EESC thus took position on the general provisions of the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund, the Cohesion Fund and cross-border cooperation. It also adopted its own-initiative opinions on the fight against black-market work, European industrial regions, tourism policy in the enlarged EU, retailing, the European audiovisual sector (Media 2007) and the Life+ programme (see EUROPE 8920). For the address by the Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of inter-institutional relations and the information strategy, Margot Wallström, see EUROPE 8923.
