01/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - On visit to Tbilisi on 1April, Slovenia's Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, President-in-Office of the OSCE, expressed support for the conflict settlement process between Georgia and the breakaway province of South Ossetia, as well as for the efforts of the United Nations to reach a peaceful settlement to the conflict in the Abkhazia region. “We are willing to contribute, including through the opening up of a joint UN-OSCE human rights office in the Gali region of Abkhazia”, Rupel said, hoping that a solution would soon be found in relation to international border monitoring in Georgia and the OSCE training programme for Georgian border guards. During his visit, Dimitrij Rupel met President Mikhail Saakashvili and several members of the Georgian government.
