EPO says no to patentability of pure software, business methods and algorithms

Brussels, 30/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - “No patents for pure software, business methods or algorithms per se”, said Alain Pompidou, President of the European Patent Office (EPO) on the patentability of computer-implemented inventions. This Wednesday the EPO organised an information day on patents at the European Parliament.
