Brussels, 11/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - Supporting the process of revamping the Lisbon Agenda, the European Commission is holding a conference in Brussels on 19 and 20 May on e-learning entitled Towards a society of learning. Participants involved in e-learning in Europe will be able to share experience, exchange good practices and promote the use of new information and communication technology (ICT) for education and training. The EU has some of the highest levels of education and the necessary investment capacity, but much remains to be done in terms of using ICT. The conference will provide a forum for reflection on the need to change education and training systems to encourage the emergence of a knowledge-based society and online learning.
