07/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - Eurocommerce has stated in a press release that “work on the directive on services must continue, in the interests of growth and employment”. “The ball is now in the Parliament's court” and, at this stage, this is the best-placed institution to “propose concrete changes” and arrive at a “sensible approach”, states the press release. The organisation, which represents retail, wholesale and international trade in Europe, shares the view of the Commission, which is that “we must redouble our efforts [to clarify certain aspects of the directive] in order to demonstrate that various fears (…) are unfounded”.
