Chemische Werke Piesteritz to return 6.7 million EUR in illegal aid to German government

Brussels, 03/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - As we anticipated, the Commission has ordered the repayment of the restructuring aid paid by Germany to Chemische Werke Piesteritz GmbH (CWP), a producer of phosphoric acid and derivative products in Sachsen-Anhalt. On Wednesday, the College said that measures granted in 1997 and 1998 and representing 6.7 million EUR were not in line with Community legislation on State aid.
