28/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - Last week's adoption of the recommendation by Christina Tallberg (PES, Sweden) on the integrated action programme in education and lifelong training, saw the Committee of the Regions (COR, unanimously support the rapporteur's proposal according to which general training should be more open to the world of work and vocational training by integrating for example, part time work with companies, participation in projects, possibilities for getting representatives from the workplace to teach. COR is also asking for access to be widened involving exchange programme for young people. The communication said that it also considers that life long learning, the programme for development should be addressed to SME workers who do not have university training.
