Brussels, 21/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the External Relations Council launched a last warning to Croatia reminding the Zagreb authorities that the fugitive Croatian general, Ante Gotovina, should be arrested and transferred to the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague by 16 March at the latest, if Croatia wants to open its EU membership talks as planned on 17 March 2005. The External Relations Council on 16 March is expected to take a decision on this subject. “There is no possible ambiguity on the matter. Croatia has less than one month” in which to prove its full cooperation with the ICTY, the president-in-office of the Council, Jean Asselborn, told the press.
