18/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Parliament's decision to call on the Commission to present a new proposal for a directive on software patenting is just, says Nicola Zingaretti (PES, Italy) in a press release. In her view, only a new proposal consistent with the requirements defined by the EP and many governments will make it possible to guarantee not only free competition on the IT market for some but also the protection of industrial products for others (yesterday's EUROPE, p.12).
