Brussels, 10/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - Lucien Lux, Luxembourg minister for the environment and transport and chair of the Council of the EU, was in Berlin on Thursday for a concertation meeting with his German counterparts, on the main dossiers under the Presidency's programme. With Jürgen Trittin, Green German environment minister, talks were to focus on the fight against climate change post-2012 (second commitment period of the Kyoto protocol, which enters into force on 16 February), the mid-term revision of the Lisbon Strategy and the proposed REACH regulation on a new European policy for the registration, evaluation and authorisation of chemicals. With Manfred Stolpe, German minister for transport, the Council President discussed mainly Eurovignette and the liberalisation of the railways.
