09/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - Jon Worth, the Young European Federalists asks the President of the European Commission in a communication: “Where are the citizens, Mr Barroso?”. Concerned by José Manuel Barroso's recent words in the Financial Times (“the basic legitimacy of our union is the Member States”), the President of the JEF protests: “Barroso seems to have an unclear vision for the role that the Commission should be playing (…). While cajoling Member States to make changes to their economies is all very well, that not enough of a political vision for the Commission”.
