ENSCW highlights desperate plight of street children in central and eastern Europe - President of World Bank, James Wolfensohn, calls for bridges to be developped to help street children

Brussels, 28/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - The number of street children in the world is estimated at between 100 and 150 million. The cause of this desperate situation is usually low family income, often associated with violence from one or both parents, re-marriage of a parent or their living with another partner. To help provide an urgent response to this situation, humanitarian and social groups seem best placed to work directly with street children, who have no voice and are often lonely...
