Brussels, 20/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - The post of Iraqi ambassador to the European Union has officially been filled, having been unoccupied since 1994. After a succession of chargés d'affaires, a simple satellite has been maintained since the beginning of the war. The Council of the EU announced on Wednesday that it had approved the appointment of Mohamed Jawad Al-Deroky as head of the Iraqi mission to the EU. He will also represent his country to Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The new ambassador, who will officially be in Brussels within ten days, will sent his letters of credentials to the President of the Council and the President of the European Commission.
