Commission releases €3 million to support repatriation of up to 45,000 Angolan refugees

Brussels, 02/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Commission had decided to provide € 3 million in humanitarian aid for Angola. The aid will be channelled through the Commission's Humanitarian Aid Office (ECHO) Fund to support transport and logistics for the repatriation of up to 45,000 Angolan refugees from Namibia (€1 million) and Zambia (€2 million) who fled during the civil war.

15,000 Angolan refugees from Namibia and up to 30,000 from Zambia will benefit from the aid. HIV/AIDS...
