The British group of South African origin, SABMILLER, has thrown in the towel in its battle with the American ANHEUSER-BUSCH for control of the Chinese HARBIN BREWERY. It has sold its 29% stake in the Chinese brewery for the high price (211 million dollars) to its American rival (see INTER of 26 May).
