Commission wants agreement on Chinese coke by Friday, or will take case to WTO

Brussels, 24/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - The spokesperson to Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy announced on Monday that the Commission had set the deadline of Friday 28 May for the Chinese authorities to agree to abolish restrictions in force on exports of Chinese coke to the EU. "Should it become impossible to reach agreement by Friday, we will be obliged to bring the matter before the World Trade Organisation", said the spokesperson.
