Brussels, 18/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - A majority block opposed the adoption of a political agreement at Tuesday's Council on the regulation on sales. A Community source indicated that France, Germany, Italy, Austria and Portugal and apparently Finland and Belgium are opposed to the extension of the "mutual recognition" principle for all advertising operations. France is also opposed to derogations being able to be applied without charge to promotional games (derogations that see telephone communication or text messages charged within the framework of these games). It is also afraid of state monopolies on lotteries in the future.
