Luxembourg, 04/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Justice and Home Affairs Council of 29 April has given the go-ahead for a draft cooperation agreement between Europol and Eurojust. This agreement will provide an agreement for structuring operational, strategic and technical information, as well as the coordination of activities between the European police office and the European legal body. The agreement will set out regular consultation between the two offices, which will be able to cooperate with each other via the transmission of information (on a case-by-case basis, including personal data but with means for restricting this use), participation in work meetings, indeed, at the request of a Member State, in the participation in joint investigation teams. The agreement was negotiated between Europol and Eurojust.
The Council also adopted decisions on the budget and the Eurojust personnel.
