30/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran has written to us about our article on a gathering of Iranian oppositionists (EUROPE 19 March p 5 and 23 March p 8), explaining that the main organisers of the demonstrators were members of the "PMOI (MKO)" and were being hunted by Interpol, as the organisation was "recognised as a terrorist group by the European Union". The Iranian Ambassador is also keen to point out that the number of participants at the demonstration was much lower than the figure initially indicated (as admitted by the organisers themselves in their information diffused after the demonstration).
