22/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - 300 figures have put their names to an appeal for a "Real Social Europe Treaty", to be presented to President Prodi on 23 March according to a press release, which states: "the Social Treaty fits on a single page! One page and 7 articles to re-orientate European construction. One page to reconcile Europe to Europeans". Among the signatories, the Abbé Pierre, former European Commission President Jacques Delors, former Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Guterres, Belgian Socialist leader Elio Di Rupi, MEPs Enrique Baron, Anne Van Lancker, Jean-Maurice Dehousse, Bruno Trentin and Robert Goebbels, and anti-globalists Susan George and José Bové.
